If you're cool with just hearing about adventures that happened off screen, you can skip this one. This one is on the list because a personally more important episode happens later, and it references the events of this episode. It tells us what Steven's parents are all about, not to mention the importance of his role. This is about as important as the first episode. This gives us an introduction to Steven, the Crystal Gems, and what it'll be like with Steven as the protagonist. I just thought it'd be a worthwhile experiment to narrow down what the most important episodes would be for those who want it.Īnd if you're wondering what I was thinking, here's some vague spoilers! I think I enjoy most every episode, so I'm not about to tell you this episode or that episode isn't worth watching. If that's not your style then I understand. Turns out, the show has a lot of that in season 1! I focused mostly on episodes that had overarching plot to them, but inevitably there's plenty of episodes that are included simply because they establish certain characters or recurring concepts. This is a list for those who wanna get straight to the point of what the show is about.
And many would agree that season 1 is a huge season full of random episodes focusing on the townsfolk with no real major plot development. But if there's one thing that can be hard to get into, it's shows that have a massive backlog of episodes.
